I had the most acrid and sour lemonade yesterday at a restaurant in San José called Sana Sana. What a wonderful little place. Formally a corner street home, now an indoor succulent garden and a cozy, plant-based eatery, Sana Sana’s lemonade had quite an acidic kick. Say that five times fast! This lemonade must have been freshly squeezed lemon juice. A wake-up call for my papillae, and a cleanser for my stomach, this beverage could be no better described than as pungent! Not the easiest to swallow fresca I’ve ever tried, but I finished it. The food at Sana Sana was super yummy— my meal came with wedge-cut fries and homemade organic ketchup; I have to say it was very good. I promise this post was not intended to talk about food, but now I’m really hungry!
Lesson learned: When life gives you lemons you make lemonade! Sin azucar (without sugar)!
